The villa is close to Jalan Oberoi, where you can visit loads of cafes, restaurants, spas and night spots. Still, closer to the villa, you should try out Batik, Happy Chappy’s, Sisterfields (take the kids here for a meal), and Motel Mexicola (for a fun night out with music, tacos & tequila), the popular Revolver Coffee and Da Maria.
Seminyak Square (where there are loads of restaurants, cafes, book stores & liquor shops) is a 10-minute walk, as are the golden sands of Seminyak Beach.
Day spas. For the ladies, there are many upmarket day spas close to the villa where you can get your hair and nails done, plus have one of those fabulous Balinese massages. For the best treatments, go to the popular Spring Day Spa, The Shampoo Lounge, Jari Menari or Rob Peetoom in Petitenget.
Shopping. Follow this up with an afternoon browsing the art galleries, homewares & jewellery stores in the chic Oberoi area. For more shopping options, head to Legian (10-min away), where you can bargain with locals for souvenirs. There are also large shopping centres in Kuta’s Kartika Plaza area, like the Discovery Shopping Mall & Lippo Mall.
Travelling with kids? A day out at Waterbom Bali in Kuta, with its massive waterslides, is a great idea, or perhaps a surf lesson at Seminyak Beach, where you can hire boards and instructors by the hour. There are also loads of day trips, such as the popular Monkey Forest Temple in Ubud or sunset photos at Tanah Lot Temple. For dinner, there are burgers at BossMan, Grill’d or Johnny Rockets and dessert at the Yoghurt Republic or gelato at Gusto in Kerobokan.
Beach Clubs. For a treat, head to Ku De Ta or Potato Head Beach Clubs for sunset cocktails, a few cold Bintang and some fine dining. These are popular venues close to the villa, and the sunsets here are sensational. You can also go to Atlas or Finns in Berawa or Cafe Del Mar in Batu Belig and hire your private cabana for the day with your friends. For those that want to party head to Old Man’s, Mexicola or SandBar in Canggu!
